Vilethia Alista Stieff, 93, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018. She was born March 12, 1924, to the late Mopsy and James Ferebee in Princess Anne County, Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jiles E. Stieff Sr.; son, Isaiah Stieff; five sisters, Macia L. Caffee, Melissa Williams, Neolis Creekmore, Elsie Etheridge and Aggie McPherson; four brothers, Wilford Ferebee, Elijah Ferebee, Simon Ferebee and Johnson Ferebee.
Vilethia was educated in Princess Anne County Training School. She was a member of Big Piney Grove Baptist Church where she served faithfully in the choir, Pastor’s Aide, Women’s Club, Nurse Ministry, Sunday school and as a missionary. In her leisure, she enjoyed cooking and gardening.
She is survived by five children, Vernice V. Haynes, Brenda V. Stieff, Jiles Jr. and Nathan and Everett Stieff; 14 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 16, at Beach Funeral Services. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, at Big Piney Grove Baptist Church, 2804 Holland Road, Virginia Beach.
