Mildred A. Davis, 97, of Virginia Beach, met Jesus face to face Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, in her caring, loving hospice home.
Born Nov. 20, 1920, in Baltimore to William and Bertie (Phillips) Butler, Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William; sister, Mary; and her husband of 46 years, Steven Davis.
She is survived by her sister, Clara; sons, Edward and John; and daughters, Joyce and Linda. Beloved Nannie to Mark, Ed, Rich, John, Steve, Linsay, Corey, Jason, Amber and Gavin, she is survived by many adoring great-grandchildren.
Mildred was a shining light of God’s love to all who knew her, serving her church in many capacities. She was also a master seamstress and artist.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at Snellings Funeral Home, 1144 George Washington Highway N., Chesapeake. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach.
