Michael Thomas Koerber, 54, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at Sentara Medical Center in Williamsburg, Va.
He was born April 4, 1963, in Newport News and resided in York County and Newport News before moving to Williamsburg. He worked as a carpenter and enjoyed NASCAR racing and had the same joy in music and playing the guitar as his son, Michael Jr.
He is survived by his son, Michael Thomas Koerber Jr.; father, Tommy J. Koerber (Shirley); mother, Sue Dail (Bobby); sister, Patty Firth (Mike); three nephews, Bobby Strickland (Jess), Thomas Strickland and Jacob Firth; two great-nieces, Lilly and Lucy; and great-nephew, Wyatt.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, in the chapel of Amory Funeral Home, Grafton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heritage Humane Society, 430 Waller Mill Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
