Carolyn Klincar Williams, 89, active in Sandbridge volunteer rescue squad and founding member of St. John the Apostle

Carolyn Klincar Williams, 89, passed away early Saturday morning, February 27, 2016, at Arrondale Assisted Living in Springfield, where she had been residing. She was born in Belleville, Ill., the daughter of the late George and Lola Reeb Klincar. She met her husband, the late Bernice C. Williams Jr., when he was stationed at Scott Field in Belleville, Ill. They were married for 63 years.

Carolyn worked for Sears in various locations over the years. Upon Bernie’s retirement, and the two becoming permanent residents of Sandbridge, she worked as the manager of Sea-Leactions Gifts in Sandbridge. She and Bernie were active in the Sandbridge Fire and Volunteer Rescue Squad and the Sandbridge Civic League. They also were founding members of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.

She is survived by sons, Gregory A. Williams of Alexandria and C. Bradley Williams of Frederick, Md. Her middle son, Steven W. Williams of Virginia Beach, preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Robert J. Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park.
