Dr. William Richard “Bill” Brown, Ph.D., 74, passed away on February 9, 2016. Born in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late Henry and Elizabeth Brown. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Ken Brown.
Bill was Professor Emeritus from Old Dominion University and a valued volunteer at Sentara Leigh Hospital in the Emergency Department. He spent six months in the U.S. Army and six years in the U.S. Army Reserves early in his life. He obtained his Ph.D. from Ohio State University in 1972.
Left to cherish his memory: his wife of 46 years, Betty Brown; daughter, Melissa Brown; son, Glenn Brown and wife Jessica; granddaughter, Emily Brown; and brothers, Bob and Ray Brown.
The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, 3600 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23452 on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia at www.foodbankonline.org or P.O.
