DKCM Lawrence J. Reesman Jr., 91, died Saturday, February 6, 2016, due to complications from a fall.
Larry retired after 30 years in the Navy and worked 16 years as the purchasing agent for the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority. After retirement he volunteered at Sentara Leigh for many years.
He leaves his wife of 65 years, Lois J. Reesman, his sister, Joan Signorella of Natrona Heights, PA, his son, Lawrence J. Reesman, III (Melody), his daughter, Leslie J. Johnson, his grandchildren, Lawrence J. Reesman, IV, Ashlee W. Reesman, Rachel J. Johnson, Emily K. Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Lawrence Reesman, Sr., his brothers, James and Charles, and a sister Elaine Cardinal.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 3600 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA. A family service will be held in his hometown at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Larry should be send to St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 717 Tucson Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
