Barbara Ann Young Nester, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at the age of 84 years at Sentara Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Windermere, Virginia Beach from the complications of Parkinson’s Disease.
Barbara was born in Copper Hill, Virginia on July 4, 1931, to the late Cecil Ralph Young and Ada Eliza Mills. She was a lifetime member of Haygood United Methodist Church and the Haygood United Methodist Women.
Left to cherish Barbara’s memory: her husband of 65 years, Forest Ray Nester; son, Forest Anthony and his wife, Morgan Diane of Falls Church, Virginia; daughter, Pamela Elise and her husband, Douglas Ottati of Davidson, North Carolina; granddaughter, Katherine Eliza Ottati of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; grandson, Albert Camillo Ottati of Alexandria, Virginia.
The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at Haygood United Methodist Church, 4713 Haygood Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23455 by the Reverend Tammy Estep. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Gardens, 631 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA followed by a reception in the Social Hall of the church.
