William McLeod Ferguson III, attorney, of Yorktown, died of health complications resulting from a stroke on Oct. 30, 2015, at Regency Health & Rehabilitation Center in Yorktown. He was 50.
“Mc,” as he was known to friends and family, was a graduate of Lafayette High School, Hampden-Sydney College and Vermont Law School. He was born in 1965 in Newport News, the son of William McLeod Ferguson Jr. and Nell LaMont Irvine Ferguson.
Survivors include his parents; children, Elizabeth, William and Thomas; brothers, Donald, Robert, Alexander and Edmund; nephews, Cabell and George; niece, Karolina; maternal aunt, Glynn; and paternal uncle and aunt, Charles and Margo.
Mc was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William McLeod Ferguson Sr. and Claire Murray Ferguson, of Newport News and maternal grandparents, Donald Dickens Irvine and Nell Fischer Irvine, of Claremont.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at Claremont Cemetery in Claremont, Surry County.
