William Hayes “Billy” Bender, of Yorktown, died unexpectedly on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at the age of 38.
He was a native and lifelong Peninsula resident. He played varsity baseball and was a graduate of York High School in 1993 and attended CNU. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed fishing.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at Amory Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at Grafton Christian Church with the Rev. Vanessa Falgoust officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Grafton Christian Church, 109 Brick Church Road, Yorktown, Virginia.
