Raymond Roosevelt Gray, Sr., of Williamsburg, died Tuesday, April 2, 2014, at the age of 90.
He was born Dec. 27, 1923, to Joshua and Maude Gray, in Surry, Va. He was preceded in death by his son, Alfred Gray.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie; sons, Alvin Armstead (Juanita), Michael Gray (Angela) and Raymond Gray, Jr. (Beatrice); daughters, Phyllis, Cynthia Wilkes (Tilton), Annie VanHook (Willie Sr.) and Laura Finley(Eric); and many loving grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Williamsburg. Interment to follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Williamsburg.
