
Richard E. Lane, a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of WWII and of Williamsburg, died Dec. 21, 2013.
Mr. Lane was a retired engineer with the U.S. Army Aviation Applied Technology Directorate at Fort Eustis. He graduated from Virginia Tech and was a member of Phi Delta Theta. As an avid boater, he cruised the Bahamas numerous times.
He was born in Richmond and was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Keren Lane and his brother Edward Lane.
He is survived by his son, R. Davis Tosti-Lane (Linda); nephews, Edward Lane (Mary) and Greg Lane (Kristi); devoted, longtime partner, Carol Mackenzie; and sister-in-law, Jeanne Lane.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23188. The graveside service will be private.
