Dorothy Thorgersen joined the love of her life, her husband of 51 years, Fredrick Thorgersen, in heaven when she died Dec. 16, 2013. She was 88.

She loved spending time with her family, visiting the beach and especially loved the vacations she took in the Outer Banks when her family was all together again. Mrs. Thorgersen was a beautiful person inside and out and was always proud to tell others about the modeling she did in her younger years. She had a beautiful smile that always lit up any room and was one of the founding members of St. Olaf Catholic Church, Norge.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, John Bisbano.

She is survived by her five children, sons Michael Thorgersen, Steve Thorgersen (Carol), Fredrick Thorgersen Jr. (Geralyn) and daughters, Lynn LaPenna (George) and Ellen Bisbano and six grandchildren, Kara, John, Brian, Eric, Jillian and Paul.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at St. Olaf Catholic Church with a service to begin at 10 a.m. A visitation will also be held from 5 to 7 p.m. that same day at Bucktrout Funeral Home. Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Quantico National Cemetery.

Please leave online condolences for the family at Bucktrout of Williamsburg Funeral Home.
