WILLIAMSBURG — Scouting America, Historic Triangle District announced a Scout Expo is set to take place at Veterans Park in Williamsburg on Saturday, Aug. 16.
Scouting America, formerly known as Boy Scouts of America, notes it has “helped young people become confident, capable and independent through hands-on experiences that teach real-life skills” for over a century, and at the expo, scouts will lead interactive activities for all ages.
The event, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., is free and open to everyone.
Scouting America said scouting is alive and well in the Greater Williamsburg area, with scouts and leaders alike engaging in the community through service and citizenship activities. The Scout Expo will allow visitors to experience firsthand what scouting has to offer children and families.
Activities include:
- Pinewood Derby
- Nature Exploration
- Rain gutter Regatta
- Obstacle Course
- Knot-Tying station
- Tent set-up & camping tips
- Fire-starting demos
- STEM activities
