WILLIAMSBURG — Triangle Stepping Stones and the Williamsburg Health Foundation celebrated the completion of accessibility and safety improvements at the nonprofit’s Lake Powell Road facility Tuesday.

The project included reconstruction of the parking lot, designated accessible parking spaces, an accessibility ramp, accessible doors and new parking lot lighting.

The work was supported by a $77,960 capital grant from the Williamsburg Health Foundation to improve access to substance-use-disorder support services.

Triangle Stepping Stones also recognized five companies that worked on the project: William Wills Contractor Inc. for demolition and grading; Paragon Paving Inc. for milling and paving; Samuels & Sons Contracting LLC for striping; A+ Concrete for bollard work; and Branscome Inc. for asphalt material.

According to Triangle Stepping Stones, the companies donated time and materials to the project.

Triangle Stepping Stones provides a substance-free space for 12-step recovery groups to meet. The organization hosts about 25 meetings each week.

The improvements are intended to make the facility safer and more accessible for visitors, including those who use wheelchairs, walkers or other mobility aids.

The organizations marked the completion of the project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, attended by board and staff members from Triangle Stepping Stones and the Williamsburg Health Foundation.
