Four Winter Markets Coming to Yorktown in February and March

YORKTOWN — Four winter markets are coming to Yorktown from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on select Saturdays in February and March.

Vendors and artists will line the waterfront selling locally grown, produced, and crafted products, according to a York County press release.

Local farms will sell eggs, meats, and seasonal produce, and a variety of baked goods, homemade candles and soaps, gourmet chocolates, scarves and mittens, flowers, spices, local art (including jewelry and woodwork) will be featured. Food trucks will also be available.

The winter markets are slated for Feb. 11 (Valentine’s Day), Feb. 25, March 4, and March 18 (St. Patrick’s Day).

The official weekly market season begins on April 8 with the Go Green Market, promoting environmental sustainability, from 8 a.m. to noon. There will be several themed markets throughout the 2023 season, many with extended hours:

April 8: Go Green Market/Opening Market (8 a.m. to noon)
April 15: Sister Cities French Market (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
April 29: Pirate Invasion Market (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
May 13: Vintage Market/Car Show on Main (8 a.m. to noon)
July 15: Fun in the Sun Market (8 a.m. to noon)
Aug. 5 & 12: National Farmers Market Week (8 a.m. to noon)
Sept. 9: First Responders Market (8 a.m. to noon)
Oct. 14: Fall Festival (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
Oct. 28: Paws at the River Market (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
Nov. 11: Maritime Festival (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
Nov. 18: Harvest Festival (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
Dec. 9: Mistletoe Market (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

Beginning with the April 8 event, Yorktown Market Days will run Saturdays through the end of Oct., rain or shine, with the exceptions of May 6 and Oct. 7. Once the weekly season ends, there will be additional extended markets that include special seafood vendors, Thanksgiving foods, visits from Santa, and unique shopping opportunities.

Free parking is available at the Riverwalk Landing parking terrace, York Hall, York-Poquoson Courthouse, County Administration Building, and other designated public parking lots. The complimentary, wheelchair-accessible Yorktown Trolley will also be available for the spring and summer markets, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with several stops throughout town.
