WILLIAMSBURG — Love is Love Tidewater will celebrate Williamsburg’s first-ever pride convention, PrideCon, on Sunday, Oct. 30.
PrideCon is described as a fully-family friendly event and will host various vendors and food trucks, according to a press release from the organization, and with the event scheduled the day before Halloween, attendees are encouraged to wear costumes, pride wear, or a combination of the two. There will also be a costume contest and a variety of other activities.
Since its founding in 2019, Love is Love Tidewater has worked to create a safe space for members of the LGBTQIA+ community as well as the friends and allies of all ages who support them in the Tidewater region, the organization said, adding Love is Love “was created by a dedicated group of locals with the intent of building bridges, cultivate community, and host safe spaces.”
The event on Oct. 30 will be from noon-7 p.m. at the Williamsburg Community Building. The event is free and open to the community. For more information about Love is Love Tidewater, visit its official website.
