WILLIAMSBURG — Local Author D.L. Farrar will host a PowerPoint presentation on her novel, “Vincent and the Grief Masters,” at Williamsburg Regional Library on July 26.
Farrar wrote the novel from a short story she had written several decades ago called “Vincent and the Masters of Grief.” Set in 2065, Troy Vincent is wrongly accused of murdering a powerful CEO and condemned to die in the terrifying Virtual Reality Chambers. There he meets a young woman accused of the same murder. Together they must unravel the mystery of who is framing them, while battling demons of their own making.
An android advises them to seek the keys to the elusive Grief Masters, but it means digging deep into their damaged and shattered souls. As the android tries to help, he also faces his own destruction and an unexpected meeting with the ultimate Grief Master.
The presentation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and feature a 45-minute look at the futuristic setting, the characters, the secrets in the book, as well as some info on the origins of the story. Farrar said there would be a Q&A, prizes, and refreshments as well.
“I’m excited to share my science-fiction story with fans of fantasy, mystery, and good vs evil internal struggles. I think those who read the book, and come to this PowerPoint presentation, will take away with them the powerful message of the Grief Masters: that one can face anything with courage, faith, hope, and love,” said Farrar.
The presentation will take place in the Patricia Schell Room of the Williamsburg Regional Library. For more information about the author, visit her official website.
