WILLIAMSBURG — Douglas G. Pons and Stacy Kern-Scheerer were sworn in Friday, Jan. 6 to the Williamsburg City Council at the 1770 Courthouse on Duke of Gloucester Street.
Pons is serving his fourth term on the city council, and Kern-Scheerer is serving her first. Their four-year terms end on Dec. 31, 2026, the city said in a press release.
The same day, during the organizational meeting, the city council elected Pons and W. Pat Dent to serve as mayor and vice mayor, respectively, for the 2023-24 term. It is a second term for each in those roles, which are determined every two years.
Dent is currently in his first term on the city council, which began in July 2020.
