JAMES CITY COUNTY — James City County (JCC) Parks and Recreation has begun the process of updating its master plan, and it is now asking the community for their input.

According to a press release, the 2021 update of the Parks Master Plan will help steer development of JCC’s park facilities for the next decade. The facilities include the Warhill Sports Complex, Upper County Park and James City County Recreation Center Park.

The county encourages local residents to provide their opinions on what amenities they would like each of the parks to add or remove. Improvements will be completed based on community feedback and available funding.

A list of current amenities at each facility and proposed changes can be viewed here.

Residents have several ways in which to provide their thoughts. Two separate virtual meetings will be held by the county; one on June 3 at 6 p.m., and another on June 10 at 2 p.m. Residents can register ahead of time on Zoom.

Residents who can’t attend a meeting can also fill out an online survey by June 14. The survey questions can also be answered and emailed to parks.rec@jamescitycountyva.gov.

Citizens can also write a letter with their thoughts to:
