Virginia Natural Gas is hosting a drive-thru food drive Thursday to benefit the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore and the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank.
The food drive is in addition to the donation VNG made to both foodbanks in March, according to a news released from the company.
The drive will be in two locations:
- Virginia Beach office from 9-11:30 a.m. at 544 S. Independence Blvd.
- Newport News office from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at 746 Diligence Drive.
The community is invited to take part in the food drive. This will be a drive-thru event and those taking part are asked to wear a face covering for their safety and the safety of the employee volunteers.
Donations need to be placed in the trunks of vehicles – so volunteers can get the donations safely.
Local foodbanks are requesting non-perishable food items such as peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, fruit juice, pasta sauce, and boxed meals. Cereal, pasta, oatmeal and rice, as well as baby products and personal hygiene items will also be accepted.
