
Occupants of a home in James City County got out safely following a fire Sunday morning.
County fire crews responded to the home in the 100 block of Thompson Lane at around 12:51 a.m.
There, they found fire “showing from the front of the single-story home.”
Residents got out before firefighters arrived, officials said.
The home sustained “significant fire and smoke damage,” officials said. No injuries were reported.
The James City County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Department, Williamsburg Fire Department and York County Department of Fire and Life Safety assisted their James City County counterparts.
Information on how many occupants were in the home during the fire was not immediately released.
