Williamsburg man struck by vehicle in York County

A 59-year-old Williamsburg man was flown to a hospital with what authorities described as “life-threatening injuries” after being struck by a vehicle in York County Friday.

It happened around 5:43 p.m.

According to the Virginia State Police, a 2015 Nissan Altima was westbound on Merrimac Trail approaching James York Plaza when it entered the left lane and struck the man, who was walking in the middle of the road.

The man was flown to Medical College of Virginia, the State Police said.

Further details about the incident, including the identity of the man, were not immediately released.

Authorities said Friday night the incident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
