Williamsburg Police are asking for public assistance in identifying a woman who took money from a charity jar at a 7-Eleven.

On April 29, the woman walked into the 7-Eleven at 1510 Richmond Road and took the charity jar from the register counter, police said in a Facebook post.

She then walked to the back of the store, broke the jar, took the cash and left, police said.

Police have released two surveillance photos from the store. They show a woman wearing glasses and a red or pink shirt standing near the convenience store counter.

Anyone with information on the incident or who can identify the woman should call Williamsburg Police at 757-220-2331 or 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
