VIRGINIA BEACH — One of the big new names in Contemporary Christian music will be playing a free show in Virginia Beach Saturday night.
Phil Wickham, whose single “This is Amazing Grace” hit No. 1 on the Billboard National Christian Audience Chart in 2014, will perform at Regent University’s Chapel at 8 p.m.
Wickham was born in San Diego, Calif. in 1984. His album “The Ascension” (2013) debuted at No. 2 on the ScoundScan Christian Albums Chart and inside the Top 40 of the Billboard 200.
“This is Amazing Grace” spent 13 weeks atop Billboard’s National Christian Audience Chart and which Billboard named the No. 1 Christian Airplay Song of the Year. It is heard often in churches that feature Contemporary Christian music.
Wickham has also toured with a few big names, including the David Crowder Band.
Although tickets are free, Regent is asking those who plan to attend the Night of Worship to preregister for the event and to bring a copy of their eTicket or the QR code.
The Chapel is located at 1000 Regent University Drive.
