VIRGINIA BEACH — Monday update: A 59-year-old man died after he was shot in a residential area of Virginia Beach on Friday.
David R. Gonzalez, of Virginia Beach, died on the scene of the shooting in the 600 block of Westminster Lane around 4:35 p.m., according to the Virginia Beach Police Department.
Forty-nine-year-old Nancy M. Copeland has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection to his death. She has also been charged with using a gun in the commission of a felony. She’s currently being held in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.
Friday update: Police are investigating a “suspicious death” of an adult male that happened in a residential area of Virginia Beach on Friday night.
According to the Virginia Beach Police Department, the death happened in the 600 block of Westminster Lane.
Police originally called the incident a shooting. No other information has been released.
