VIRGINIA BEACH — A teenager was hit by a car while trying to cross the road near Green Run High School on Monday morning.
The teenager was crossing the road in a crosswalk at the intersection of the 1700 block of Dahlia Road and the 1800 block of South Independence Boulevard around 6:30 a.m. when he was hit by the car, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department.
The teenager was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries. The driver, who remained on the scene of the crash, was ticketed for failure to yield.
