NORFOLK — Police are searching for a driver who allegedly hit a 27-year-old Philadelphia man during a hit-and-run crash on Tuesday.
Police responded to the crash at 10:40 p.m. and found John Cutillo III lying unconscious in the intersection of Saint Paul’s Boulevard and E. Charlotte Street, according to the Norfolk Police Department.
Cutillo was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe Cutillo was hit while crossing the intersection of E. Charlotte Street by someone driving recklessly south on Saint Paul’s Boulevard in a red Jeep, according to the NPD.
Police say the driver of the red Jeep did not stop to check on Cutillo; however, as a result of the first crash, a Cadillac Escalade also hit the Philadelphia man and that driver did stop to check on him, according to the NPD.
Police say anyone who may have seen the red Jeep, which would likely have front-end damage to it, should call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
