VIRGINIA BEACH — A person involved in a fatal crash in Virginia Beach Thursday has been charged with reckless driving, police say.

The crash happened just shortly before 7 a.m. at the intersection of Lynnhaven Parkway and Gravenhurst Drive. Police believe a driver, who ultimately died, was turning left onto Lynnhaven Parkway and was hit by another person driving north on the same road, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department.

Police say that after the first crash, the car traveling north hit another car that was about to turn left onto Gravenhurst Drive. The drivers of the other two cars were not injured, according to the VBPD.

Police believe speed was a factor in the crash. The driver traveling north on Lynnhaven Parkway was charged with reckless driving.
