VIRGINIA BEACH — A 32-year-old woman is accused of shooting a man during an argument in a Virginia Beach home.

Police responded to the Swanton Court home on June 16 and found a 32-year-old man bleeding from his torso, according to documents file in Virginia Beach Circuit Court.

Officials believe that Carolyn Allgood shot the man while they were having an argument.

The man told police that in the middle of the fight with Allgood, he went to the garage to get anxiety medication. He said Allgood followed him into the garage and pointed a gun at him while yelling at him to give her stuff back to her, court documents state.

The man emptied his pockets, throwing Allgood’s cell phone down. That’s when police believe she shot him, court documents show.

The man was taken to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital where he survived his injury.

Allgood was charged with malicious wounding around 11:30 p.m. on June 16. The charge is a class three felony that can be punished with up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $100,00 or less.

Allgood is scheduled to appear in Virginia Beach Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on Sept. 5.
