Navy sailors arrested in connection with Virginia Beach arson

VIRGINIA BEACH – Two U.S. Navy sailors have been arrested in connection to an April arson, according to a spokesperson from the city’s fire department.

Around 1:30 a.m. on April 4, dispatchers were notified of a possible brush fire on Berknor Drive. First responders found an abandoned 2016 Dodge Charger engulfed in flames at the scene, according to the fire department.

The car was owned by 24-year-old Timothy Wright, II. Wright was arrested and charged with arson of personal property and conspiracy. Another sailor, 21-year-old Tre’Von Bishop, was also arrested and charged with the same crimes in connection to the fire.

Both men were aboard the USS George Washington based in Norfolk.

The two men’s standing with the Navy was not available at the time of this story’s publication.
