Suffolk woman, young children found dead in Leesburg creek

SUFFOLK — Tuesday update: A missing mother and her two children were found dead about three days after they disappeared.

According to the Virginia State Police, Courtney Ashe, 27, and her children 9-year-old Jaylen C. Sills-Russell and 5-year-old Cameron A. Martin died in a crash. They were found on Monday in their car, which was in a creek near Leesburg.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

Monday update: Police are searching for a 27-year-old Suffolk woman and her children.

Courtney Ashe, Jalen C. Sills-Russell, 9, and Cameron A. Martin, 5, were expected to return to a family home in Leesburg on Friday night, but never showed up. They were last seen leaving another family home in Ashburn, according to the Virginia State Police.

Their family members have not heard from them since Friday night. They were reported missing on Sunday to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities are worried about their safety.

Police believe Ashe is driving a 2002 blue, four-door Ford Taurus. The car has a Virginia tag on it with a license plate number reading VUV-9844.
