NORFOLK — If you’re headed to Waterside this weekend, you may want to switch up your usual route to avoid delays.
A road closure on St. Paul’s Boulevard will have traffic re-routed down Plume Street toward the Slover Library.
Construction crews will be conducting emergency utility repairs from 7 p.m. Friday evening until 5 a.m. Monday morning, according to a press release from the city. The southbound lane will be closed for one block between Plume and Main Street. The northbound side will be reduced to one lane.
The city is detouring traffic west down Plume and then South Atlantic St.
The culmination of Downtown Norfolk Restaurant Week as well as warm weather and a number of entertainment events could draw more people than usual to the area.
