Chesapeake Investment Group has hired a new Chief Investment Officer: Daniel Johnedis has joined the company from a wealth management firm in Florida.

Johnedis, who has more than 25 years of experience as a portfolio manager and investment consultant, will oversee asset management, lead the firm’s investment committee and work with the firm on enhancing its process and strategy. In the past, he has worked for Loomis Sayles & Co. and Baring Asset Management.

“I am excited to be back in Williamsburg,” Johnedis said in a news release announcing the move. “I really enjoyed my time here when I was earning my MBA from William and Mary, and I have maintained friends and contacts in the area.”

He said he looks forward to helping the firm enhance its wealth management process and with working with the team in place at Chesapeake Investment Group.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Dan to our team,” John Sadler, the President of Chesapeake Investment Group and Chesapeake Trust Company, said in the release. “Dan’s broad experience and highly successful track record make him uniquely qualified to lead the investment division of our firm.”

Johnedis graduated magna cum laude from Boston College in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. He then graduated magna cum laude from the College of William and Mary in 1986 with a master’s in business administration.

Chesapeake Investment Group is a wealth management firm that oversees more than $297 million in assets and trust subsidiaries.
