A man walking home from work in the Five Forks area of Williamsburg just after midnight March 18 said he was robbed at gunpoint on Powhatan Springs Road, according to a James City County Police report.
The victim, 21, said he was talking on his cell phone with his girlfriend when two men, whose faces were covered by bandannas, exited a white vehicle parked on the side of the road and displayed a handgun, said Stephanie Williams-Ortery, a spokesperson for the police. The victim said he dropped his phone, fled, then called police when he reached his home.
Officers reported to the scene, where they could not locate the cell phone. Williams-Ortery said nothing was stolen from the victim, though the cell phone may have been picked up off the ground.
The victim had no description of the suspects except that both were black males.
