William & Mary head football coach Jimmye Laycock and the Colonial All-Pro Football Camp have once again attracted some of the most prominent names from the National Football League to serve as guest instructors at this year’s camp, which will be held June 26-29 on the W&M campus.
Participating in this summer’s camp will be Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald.
The first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Luck quickly emerged as one of the league’s elite quarterbacks and was named to three consecutive Pro Bowls from 2012-14. En route to garnering the honors, Luck threw for 12,957 yards during his first three seasons, which is the most of any NFL player to begin a career. Additionally, his 86 touchdown passes during that span set a franchise record and rank second only to Pro Football Hall of Famer Dan Marino for the most in a player’s first three seasons.
One of the league’s top young signal callers, Mariota was the second overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft after a record-setting collegiate career at Oregon that culminated with him winning the Heisman Trophy. He will enter his second season as the Titans starting quarterback this fall.
A virtual lock for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Fitzgerald is a nine-time Pro Bowl selection and was voted into the annual all-star game for seven straight seasons from 2007-13. The former No. 3 overall pick is one of just eight players in NFL history to total more than 13,000 receiving yards and 95 touchdowns catches.
The Colonial All-Pro Camp is for players ages 8 through rising seniors in high school. For complete information and to register online, please visit TribeAthletics.com or call the W&M Football office at 757-221-3337.
