HAMPTON — After two days of searching for a missing 4-year-old boy, the Hampton Police Department (HPD) named the child’s father as persons of interest in the disappearance.
The father, Corey Bigsby, told the police that he saw his son Codi in his apartment around 2 a.m. in the 100 block of Ranalet Drive on Jan. 31.
Since that time HPD and volunteers have searched the surrounding Old Buckroe and Fox Hill areas in hopes of locating Codi.
Officers will now use K9s and UAVs during the search. Emergency management and volunteer crews will continue to assist in the search.
During a press conference on Feb. 2, HPD Sgt. R.C. Williams said that Corey Bigsby had not been charged but that he was a person of interest. At the time of the press conference, Corey was at HPD headquarters voluntarily and answering questions.
