WILLIAMSBURG — Harold Jackson McKeel, 83, of Williamsburg, VA passed away April 20, 2022.

Harold was a native of Whitesville, NC who graduated from Hampton High School and then began work at C&P Telephone Co. After serving in the United States Army, he returned to the telephone company and worked there for the next 43 years. Harold was a member of Olive Branch Christian Church, where he served as a deacon, chairman of the board, and as a Sunday school teacher for many years.

Harold had a passion for gardening; he was known throughout the county for his beautiful, bountiful gardens which he loved to share with others. He greatly enjoyed traveling with Nancy and vacationing in Nags Head with his family; a favorite for all of us.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Lemmie and Joseph McKeel; two brothers, Joseph Watson and Billy Ray McKeel.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 61 years, Nancy; son, David McKeel (Jess); daughter, Beth McKeel Hodges; son, Tyler McKeel; granddaughter, Kimberlee Hodges O’Neal (Sean); grandson, John Tyler McKeel; and great-granddaughter, Sadie Ann O’Neal.

The family will receive friends 2 to 4 PM, Sunday, April 24th at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA. A memorial service will be held 1 PM, Monday, April 25th, also at the funeral home, and a reception will follow at the Virginia Grill at Stonehouse. A private graveside ceremony will take place at a later date.
