CHARLES CITY COUNTY — The James City County Police Department announced the arrest of a wanted fugitive with 20 outstanding warrants in a joint operation Monday night with the Charles City County Sheriff’s Office.
According to officials, on Feb. 10 at approximately 9 p.m., members of the James City County Police Department SWAT Team, Specialized Response Team (SRT), and Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT), in collaboration with the Charles City County Sheriff’s Office, executed a high-risk search warrant in the 9000 block of Barnetts Road in Charles City County.
The operation led to the apprehension of 22-year-old Tyler Kwan Wallace, who was wanted on 20 outstanding warrants, including Abduction and Strangulation, police said.
Wallace was taken into custody without incident. During the operation, a firearm, U.S. currency, and suspected narcotics were recovered, and Wallace will face additional charges in Charles City County, according to officials.
Wallace was transported to the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail, where he is being held without bond.
Wallace was wanted by the James City County Police Department for both misdemeanor and felony offenses, including Abduction, Assault and Battery Against a Family Member, Strangulation, Child Abuse and other violent crimes. The charges stem from incidents reported between August and December, and police said Wallace may be linked to additional offenses in the Hampton Roads Region.
