WILLIAMSBURG — The Three Jolly Coachmen’s Coffee House concert series recently donated $1,300 to Child Development Resources (CDR) of Williamsburg.

CDR provides early intervention services for babies, young children and their families, offering support for those facing developmental delays, a lack of resources, or other special needs, according to the announcement. Services are also provided to expectant moms, fathers, childcare providers, and training for early childhood professionals.

The Three Jolly Coachmen’s Coffee House concert series donates a portion of each concert’s ticket sales as well as 100% of additional donations for drinks to the charity it partners with at each concert. The bi-monthly series features the Three Jolly Coachmen, a Kingston Trio tribute group, for three of the six concerts in a season, and three other concerts spotlight local talent.

Past concerts have featured a jazz jam with the Tony Mata Trio, the well-known Celtic group Poisoned Dwarf, and a “Hootenanny Night” featuring performances of tunes popular in the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s.

The concert series has totaled more than $18,000 in charitable donations since it launched in 2022.

The next Three Jolly Coachmen’s Coffee House concert will be Saturday, March 8, and will feature the Bagels & Fraylox Klezmer Band in a return engagement.

After March 8, two dates remain in the season. On Friday, May 9, the Three Jolly Coachmen return for another set of Kingston Trio tunes; and Hootenanny Night returns on Friday, July 11, by request.
