NEWPORT NEWS — The Peninsula Community Health Collaborative, comprised of Bon
Secours Hampton Roads, Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD), Riverside Health, Sentara Healthcare, and the Hampton and Peninsula Health Districts, is conducting its Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA).
Conducted every three years, this survey is described as a vital part of an ongoing effort to better understand the current health status, needs, and challenges faced by the community
The CHNA is a collaborative initiative designed to gather input directly from residents, according to the Hampton and Peninsula Health Districts, and the survey’s anonymous responses will help shape community health improvement efforts and ensure that resources and programs align with the needs of the region.
“We rely on input from our community to guide health initiatives that make a meaningful
impact,” said Tes La Dieu, Population Health Manager and Public Information Officer of the
Hampton and Peninsula Health Districts. “This is your opportunity to share your experiences and help create a healthier, more equitable future for all.”
The survey is open to all residents and takes just a few minutes to complete, and input is critical in identifying the most pressing health issues and in guiding the work of local health systems and public health partners.
The survey is open through Jan. 31.
Survey results will be made publicly available on each participating health system’s website, offering transparency and insight into the findings and the next steps for improvement.
