WILLIAMSBURG — Pet Supplies Plus has achieved a remarkable achievement in its ongoing commitment to supporting local animal welfare efforts. Over the past three years, the locally-owned store and its customers have donated more than 25,000 pet items, including food, toys, bedding, and essential supplies, to local animal shelters and rescue organizations.
The milestone donation underscores the store’s commitment to enhancing the lives of the homeless and rescued animals in the community.
Through continuous partnerships with local shelters and rescue groups, Pet Supplies Plus has worked to ensure that pets in need receive the care and comfort they deserve.
In addition to donations, Pet Supplies Plus actively hosts adoption events, providing a platform for rescued pets to find their forever homes.
The store donates grooming services for newly arrived rescue pets, helping them look and feel their best as they prepare for adoption.
“We are incredibly grateful to our customers and team members who have made these
donations possible,” said owner Roxanne Bobowicz. “Our mission goes beyond providing pet supplies — we are deeply committed to supporting the well-being of all animals and helping shelters continue their vital work.”
Local shelters and rescues such as Heritage Humane Society, Homes Fur Hounds, and Purrhaps It’s Serendipity have received much-needed supplies, easing their burden and allowing them to focus on finding forever homes for animals in their care.
Deanna Cosby, President of Homes Fur Hounds Rescue, said, “Pet Supplies Plus has been a
long-time supporter of our mission to rescue and find homes for hundreds of pups. We are
very grateful.”
“The Heritage Humane Society relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses to support our Kibble Kitchen & Beyond program. In 2024, 5,673 meals were provided to local pets and families in need, and the donations from Pet Supplies Plus Williamsburg helped make this possible. We are thrilled to partner with them when our pantries run low on food and pet supplies throughout the year. Thank you for supporting our local community and pets that are sheltered here in Williamsburg,” expressed Kimberly Laska, Executive Director of the Heritage Humane Society.
As part of its community commitment, Pet Supplies Plus continues to organize donation drives, adoption events, and grooming support for rescue pets. Pet lovers are invited to join the effort by contributing to the store’s ongoing donation initiatives.
