WILLIAMSBURG — Oceans & Ale has signed a lease to move into the former Ruby Tuesday building at Monticello Marketplace.
Owner John Wagner states renovations on the building, including the addition of an outdoor patio, will begin this winter with an anticipated Summer 2025 opening.
“We can’t wait to bring that free-standing building back to life! The space checks all the boxes for our needs. Location and parking along with its size. A larger dining area, larger kitchen, and the ability to add a private dining room for private parties and special occasions,” Wagner stated.
Oceans & Ale had previously announced plans to build a new restaurant on Richmond Road near the old Yankee Candle.
Wagner explained, “We are considering all options but when we purchased the land on Richmond Road a few years ago, we did so with hopes of building a new restaurant from scratch. We haven’t given up on that dream just yet, but we have put the project on hold for the foreseeable future.”
It is unlikely Oceans & Ale restaurant will continue to operate in its current location at the Williamsburg Outlets said Wagner, “Our 15-year lease at the Outlets is coming to a close. While we enjoyed our time here, this new location allows us to expand our kitchen and better serve our guests.”
“We want to thank everyone around Olde Town and Richmond Road for their support and patronage over these last 15 years. Everyone that’s walked through our doors and supported us. We’ve had some amazing times at this location and made friends we will cherish forever. We aren’t moving far though, less than 10 minutes away, and we can’t wait for this next chapter!” exclaimed Wagner.
