WILLIAMSBURG — Grove Christian Outreach Center hosted its third ‘Slurpies with Senators’ event on Wednesday, July 10.
Virginia state Sen. Danny Diggs was on hand to speak with the community in the fun and informal setting.
“We are excited to have our new Senator to our third annual ‘Slurpies with Senators.’ It is really just an opportunity for the community that Sen. Diggs represents to come and meet and greet with a cold beverage on a hot day,” said Katie Patrick, Executive Director for Grove.
Now in its 20th year of assisting the Grove community, the Outreach Center serves the community through Fresh Food Room and Pantry, household and clothing closets, school supplies, Thanksgiving Market and Christmas gift distributions.
“The Grove Christian Outreach Center is a very important part of the community. I am pleased to have been invited to see people who live in the community and be available to them,” said Diggs.
