WILLIAMSBURG — The Hungry Pug food truck is on the go again with a new schedule after an extended stay at Billsburg Brewery.
Launched in 2018, The Hungry Pug offers a variety of grilled cheese sandwiches, the inspiration for which came from Vega, the family dog, who loves cheese.
Owned by father and son Scott and Sam Coelln, it was Scott’s wife who came up with the menu.
The Hungry Pug will now be based at Eagles Aerie 4548 from 5-9 p.m. on Tuesday through Friday, and will be serving breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon at Frothy Moon Tuesday through Friday.
“When we were first stationary, I was turning down business every other day,” Scott said about transitioning to the road. “Now it’s just getting the word out to people that we’re no longer stationary — that we’re now open to new things.”
The Hungry Pug’s owners say they have plans to appear at several venues depending on their schedule. It is also available online for bookings, and customers can also place orders via UberEats — including its top-selling Beer Cheese.
