Ferris’ Day Off: Pet Supplies Plus

HISTORIC TRIANGLE — Part beagle, part foxhound and all attitude, Ferris Bueller (no, not THAT Bueller but, definitely named after the ’80s icon) is a one-year-old pup who loves to head out on adventures and explore new places and meet people.

Having pets always means we need pet supplies, and what better place to head than Pet Supplies Plus in Lightfoot? This locally-owned franchise is about to celebrate its two-year anniversary in the Lightfoot Marketplace shopping center.

When we arrived, owner Roxanne Bobowicz was there to greet Ferris and assist us with our shopping. The huge retail location has so much to offer! Pet items of all species are available…cat, dog, fish, bird, small mammal and reptile.

Ferris needed a new harness, so we set to work finding just the right fit before checking out the toys and treats. There were so many choices, including Halloween-themed toys and costumes.

Ferris was especially interested in the other adoptable pets. Pet Supply Plus sells fish, and small critters such as parakeets, reptiles and guinea pigs as well as providing space for adoptable cats to Purrhaps It’s Serendipity, a local nonprofit cat rescue.

Bobowicz said they love to support local animal groups through adoption events and they are always accepting donations to be distributed to those organizations.

Pet Supply Plus offers self-service wash bays that do not require a reservation. A good thing for this dog mom to remember when the mud and creeks at local parks become too irresistible for Ferris and Barley Malt!

This weekend, Pet Supply Plus is running a huge 20% off store-wide sale. The business also offers curbside pickup and delivery options.

With full bags we left the shop, practically dragging Ferris back to the car with the promise of a treat for the car ride home. The look in this pup’s eyes said, “can we go back soon?”

Happen to spot Ferris out on an adventure? Come say hello! If you have a dog-friendly suggestion you would like Ferris to consider covering or visiting, please email his mom. Hounds are not very good at responding.
