Annual Folk Fest Returns This Weekend

YORKTOWN — The Yorktown Folk Festival is returning to the riverfront this weekend (Sept. 25-26).

For its ninth year, the folk fest will feature a variety of musicians, bands, dancers and storytellers. There will also be food trucks, vendors, craft demonstrations and artists on hand.

Music is slated to be performed at four different venues along Riverwalk Landing including the Ship, Tent, Beach, and Riverwalk stages.

The line up for Saturday includes: Bob Zentz, LCV Project, Nathan Lienard, Evermoore, Clan McCool, Winsome, Nadia Koz Experiment, ShantyGrass, Jerry Sowers, Field Music VA, Barnacle Betty, Mermaids Tale, Carson Hudson, Rose and Sword Dance Academy, Rider, and Tin Can Fish Band.

Additionally, the county market will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

On Sunday, in conjunction with the Yorktown Art Stroll, the line up includes: Audio Portrait, LCV Project, Lords of Misrule, Joe Kaplenk, John Smith, Baxter Harding, Scotch and Rye, Phil Casey, Amy Ferebee, Barnacle Betty, Jolly Roving Tar Kountry Kickers, The Burtons, and Ralph Motley and Friends.

The event is held by the Watermen’s Museum, located at 309 Water St. in Yorktown, and is sponsored by the York County Commission of the Arts and Yorktown Commemoration Committee.

Guests are encouraged to maintain proper social distancing protocols and wear face coverings while indoors.
