Yorktown Art Stroll to Feature Dozens of Artists Along Water Street

YORKTOWN — Nearly 50 regional artists will display their work along Water Street for Yorktown’s annual event Yorktown Art Stroll.

On Sunday, Sept. 26, Yorkown Art Stroll will showcase unique work from local artists, including oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, photography, jewelry, pottery, painted furniture, fiber art, handmade soap, wood work and more.

Work will be displayed at the Yorktown Waterfront, extending up the hill onto Main Street where On the Hill Gallery will be featuring a special display of new artists.

The Gallery at York Hall will feature Historian Chris Bonin’s Revolutionary War artwork and he will be doing book signings for Virginia in the War of 1812 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Not only will the public be observers of the art, but they can participate in an annual community painting. There will be a blank canvas set out for visitors to complete.

Held rain or shine, the event is free and will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Riverwalk Landing331 Water Street.

There will also be live entertainment from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Audio Portrait playing Acoustical Harmony.

The event is sponsored by the Yorktown Arts Foundation and York County with support from the York County Arts Commission.

Free parking is available on the lower level of the Riverwalk Landing Parking Terrace, as well as the upper level if routine maintenance project has been completed. It will also be available at York Hall, York-Poquoson Courthouse, County Administration Building, and other designated public parking lots in the area.
