JAMES CITY COUNTY — James City County is updating its Comprehensive Plan in a process that will continue at an upcoming meeting.
JCC’s Planning Commission Working Group (PCWG) scheduled a meeting Wednesday, May 12 at 4 p.m. to continue its discussion on Engage 2045, which is an update for the county’s 2015 Comprehensive Plan called Toward 2035: Leading the Way.
The Comprehensive Plan guides the county’s future growth, policies and decisions by county departments for the next 20 years. It is reviewed every five years.
At the meeting, the PCWG will discuss potential names for the plan as well as materials for certain chapters, including land use, implementation and the appendices.

Residents can watch the meeting on public access cable channel 48 or on the county’s YouTube channel.
Residents can learn more about the Comprehensive Plan and the review process on the county’s website. The process is intended to inform residents and provide them with opportunities to give feedback on the county’s future.
