A Williamsburg man who was arguing with his girlfriend was arrested Friday night after officers found a suitcase full of marijuana, police said.
Coshaun Bryant, 31, was arguing with his girlfriend Jasmine Perry, 22, of Williamsburg, when police officers showed up at their residence in the 4000 block of Battery Boulevard, according to a Williamsburg Police Department news release.
Police say Bryant initially lied to officers about his identity. While officers were checking out his identification they found the suitcase filled with marijuana and other drugs, the release said.
Officers seized about 14 pounds of marijuana and more than $10,000 in cash, according to the release.
Bryant was charged with one count of possessing marijuana with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of schedule two narcotics, and two counts of possession of schedule four narcotics, and one count of providing a false identity to police, police said.
The man was arrested and brought to Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail where officers discovered Bryant had outstanding warrants in the state of New York, according to the release.
Perry was allegedly found with marijuana and was also served a summons for one count of possession of marijuana and one count of obstruction of justice.
