A few local software enthusiasts are building a network of networks.
RevolutionConf, a 250-person software development conference, is coming to Virginia Beach on May 13. Three professionals will host the one-day event at Virginia Beach Resort Hotel, 2800 Shore Drive.
They are CEO Erik Olson of the software agency 80|20, software engineer Linda Nichols of the technology consulting firm ETA, and independent consultant Kevin Griffin of Griffin Consulting. Their goal is to continue connecting local software developers, according to a release.
“We are a much larger community than many realize,” they said in a release. “For that reason, we’ve created the annual RevolutionConf event. A software conference right here in the 757. We want developers to stop traveling out of the area for software conferences so we’ve now created one here at home they can be proud of.”
Nearly 30 entrepreneurs, engineers and software developers will give talks about the industry. Among the topics: the technical side of brewing, including how to maintain precise fluid temperatures and establish a correct home brewery layout.
Also on tap: Game developers will learn how to build a 3-D game with a popular industry game engine, Unity, and the general manager of a large digital agency will share insight into the hiring process and tips for becoming more marketable talent.
